The Ted Lewis Centre

Archive and exhibition celebrating the art, life and times of Edward (Ted) Lewis (1940 – 1982), novelist, graphic artist and jazz musician.

The Ted Lewis Centre is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation governed by local trustees.

The Centre collection includes memorabilia, stories, artefacts and description of 1950/60’s Barton in which Get Carter Novelist, Ted Lewis, grew up. The Exhibition includes details of the local influences on a Barton Grammar School boy who became Father of British Noir Crime Writing.

Free admission (over sixteens only), Sundays 10am to 4pm in April through to December. During January, February and March we host group and individually booked visits (see www.thetedlewiscentre.org)
