Walk: Woodhall Spa Airfield / Chambers Farm Wood

June 14 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm | Cost: Free

Organized by: Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust – Barton Area Group

Event Navigation

Barton Area Group’s regular field trips are open to everyone – you don’t need to be a member. This time they’re heading to Woodhall Spa Airfield and Chambers Farm Wood.

Morning: Woodhall Spa Airfield is a landscape of sandy soils with acid grassland, heathland with some marsh areas and open water. As a nature reserve it is a haven for wildlife as well as a place where visitors can share in the unique and peaceful atmosphere of this former airfield.

Afternoon: Chambers Wood Farm including the Butterfly Garden

Meet at the car park at Ness End, Far Ings National Nature Reserve, for 9am to go together – car sharing is available. This is a full-day activity and is expected to finish around 4pm.

To get to Ness End Farm from Barton-upon-Humber, travel west along Far Ings Road, go past the brown signs for Far Ings Visitor Centre and past the turning for the hotel. The road narrows and after 300 yards Ness End Farm car park is on your right (please note that the postcode for satnav is DN18 5RG, but this will also take you to the main Visitor Centre car park).
