Tonight with Snake there’s Don Richardson on double bass, and Alistair Anderson on Concertina and Northumbrian pipes. An old mucker and a new pal tonight. Snake sounds excited…
Snake and Don go back decades, too many gigs and shows to remember. Lulu and Paul Carrack were particularly memorable. Snake and Alistair met at a wonderfully quirky Northumberland venue in late 2023 and decided they’d like to make music together.
Expect folk, jazz, world, pop and more….
In a decades-spanning career, Don has played bass guitar and double bass for everyone from Dame Shirley Bassey to the Godfather of Sout, James Brown, and passing through The Lighthouse Family, Dusty Springfield, Elton John, Paul Carrack, the BBC Concert Orchestra, The Spice Girls and so many others along the way.
As a touring soloist, with no less than 37 tours of the USA, five trips to Australia and countless European tours to his credit, Alistair Anderson is internationally acknowledged as the master of the English Concertina and a fine exponent of the Northumbrian Pipes. He delights audiences with traditional music from Northumberland and beyond, as well as his own music, which has grown out of his love of these traditions.
Alistair has also been a session musician on numerous recordings with leading performers including; Richard Thompson, Kate Bush, Al Stewart, Davey Johnston, and A.L. Lloyd
