In Gallery One the ceramics of Emma Rodgers is again featured alongside a couple of artists she has helped mentor: Jacob Chan is the young Wirral based ceramic artist who reached the final 3 in the Channel 4 TV show The Great Pottery Throwdown. His work is a blend of his traditional Chinese heritage and his Liverpool upbringing. His iconography includes Chinese Dragons and adding lost and found items into his work. Johnny Vegas studied Art and Ceramics at Middlesex University and has recently returned to making artwork. His biggest inspiration are the drawings, paintings and ceramics of the 20th century Spanish artist Joan Miro. He regularly appeared on the
Channel 4 programme Grayson Perry’s Art Club which screened during lockdown and encouraged the UK to think creatively whist in isolation.
