Back in the day Sara Wesker led the “singing strikers of 1928” to win better working conditions for the female garment workers in the East End. Later she served on the Central Committee of the Communist Party, fought at the Battle of Cable Street and inspired one of our most famous playwrights. But did her love of the cause cost her the love of her life? Was it worth it? And does anybody care? Mark Women’s History Month by joining us to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who lived in extraordinary times and has all but been written out of history.
Hidden History tells of Barton upon Humber's fascinating history through a collection of media including original and authentic photographs, video clips, narration and text.
