Barton Town Band

Barton Town Band is a traditional British Brass Band, based in the beautiful county of North Lincolnshire, and is among the top 200 bands in the world.

With more than 100 members, music is their passion and it is the only band in the UK to have a full education scheme, nurturing and training musicians from a young age in the junior band, through to the youth band and beyond.

The Barton Town Band is completely self-supporting and all members give their time freely. The Band is managed by a committee, which organises all the necessary concerts, contests, fundraising events, the purchase of instruments and numerous social activities.

It is said that a Brass Band can present a wider repertoire than virtually any other music ensemble. The band can certainly provide the inspiring sound of brass to enhance any function. Listening to a good Brass Band is a thrilling experience with immediate impact, its fresh quality is unique and the many and varied articulations in tone, textures and moods gives considerable scope for a desirable “picture in sound”. The Band’s repertoire is varied, consisting of popular tunes, arrangements from
musicals, classical pieces, marches, and pieces especially composed for Brass Bands.

TIMES

The Band meets at the Corn Exchange in the Market Place for practices on Thursday and Sunday evenings.
