Third Waterside Food Festival on Sunday, July 12

Barton upon Humber’s third annual Waterside Food Festival takes place next month (July 12) along the Ropewalk Promenade.

This year organizers are keeping their fingers crossed that the event will not be blighted by the wet and windy weather which marred the previous two festivals.

The Waterside Food Festival is expected to attract large crowds, not only for the stalls featuring food from local producers such as ice cream by Roe’s Farm Dairy but also offers cookery demonstrations in Ropery Hall by Nigel Brown of the Nigel Brown Cookery Academy that is based at The Ropewalk and excellent live entertainment by the Fairly Famous Family who promise a five-a-day fun show”Grow Your Own”

Cllr Paul Vickers of the Barton Tourism Partnership said he was anticipating that this event would attract more visitors than ever.

“There will be a wide range of produce on sale as well as cookery demonstrations in Ropery Hall,” he said.

Liz Bennet  of The Ropewalk added how pleased she was that the arts centre was hosting the Food Festival for the third year in a row.

“This year’s Food Festival promises quality entertainment with the Fairly Famous Family and even greater food as the stalls offer a wide range of produce that will leave you wanting more with the likes of Goatwood Dairy and Proppa Pies.  There will be a treat for everyone”

Organized by the town’s Tourism Partnership, a variety of stalls is expected to feature a variety of food including, cheese, meats, fresh fruit and vegetables, ice cream and preserves.

The Waterside Food Festival opens at 10am and continues until 4pm.
