The North Lincolnshire Area Committee of Lincoln Cathedral Fabric Fund Council is delighted that the marvellous classical guitarist Sam Rodwell will perform a concert in aid of the Fabric Fund on Thursday 1st December. The ticket price will include canapés and a glass of wine from 6pm prior to the concert at 7pm. We are grateful to The Ropewalk for allowing us the use of Ropery Hall for this special concert.
Sam Rodwell is an award winning international classical guitarist who has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the UK, Including St Martin-in-the-Fields, De Montford Hall and The Bridgewater Hall. The Royal Northern College of Music has appointed Sam as an ‘Associate Guitar Teacher’ after he excelled at completing an Undergraduate degree with first class honours and a Masters degree with Distinction at the college over a six year period. Sam won the RNCM Salon Prize in his first year at the RNCM making him the first guitarist to win the prize in more than 30 years. He has featured at festivals including the Hellys International Guitar Festival, the World Saxophone Congress (Zagreb, Croatia), Cardiff Guitar Festival, Craig Ogden’s Big Guitar Weekend, Winchester Festival, World Youth Guitar Festival and RibFest. In 2016 he made his television debut on Sky Arts whilst taking part in ‘Guitar Star’ making it to the final eight and being featured in six out of nine episodes. Sam’s love of orchestral and chamber music has led him to perform with many different ensembles including a performance with the famous accordionist Martynas Levickis with the Manchester Camerata and becoming one of UK Harp Association’s Emerging artists with his Duo 53 in 2021.
