Two Barton businesses have received a “Gold Citation” in the Lincolnshire Life Magazine’s twenty-second annual Taste of Excellence Awards this month.

The Ropery Coffee Shop based at The Ropewalk on Maltkiln Road, and The Old School Canteen based within Wilderspin National School Museum on Queen Street, were both entered into the category of “Tea or Coffee Shop of the Year”.

The awards are a culmination of five months of voting from members of the public for their top businesses. 2019 saw the awards receive more than 20,000 nominations for almost 2,000 businesses. This accolade is a new boost for the two businesses, which pride themselves on home-cooked food, freshly-made cakes and a wide selection of drinks.
