A busy weekend awaits Barton

There’s a busy weekend ahead in Barton for residents and visitors alike with several events taking place showing what a vibrant community the town is.

Over both afternoons of the weekend (June 29 and 30) gardens both large and small will be opening their garden gates to visitors in Barton Open Gardens that this year is raising funds for Barton Foodbank.  Held between 2pm and 5pm on both days a map showing the 20 gardens taking part can be purchased from The Ropewalk’s Craft Gallery for just £4.  Some gardens are open on one or other of the afternoons while others are opening on both days.

On Sunday Barton Street Boot gets underway at 10am and continues until 2pm.  Every area of the town is covered and the Street Boot map can be found on Facebook.

Late morning and the spotlight turns to The Ropewalk which is hosting its annual Classic Car Day, sponsored by Dennis Vessey Classic Car Services, along the Promenade.  Expect a fantastic display of classic cars and vintage cycles along The Ropewalk Promenade.  Refreshments will be available in the Ropery Coffee Shop, the Estuary Room and at a sizzling barbecue with chef Chris at the held.

Admission to Classic Car Day is free.
