The Ropewalk’s Grand Gardening Day – Sunday, May 20
Join us at The Ropewalk for a Grand Gardening Day. Whether you are a novice or have a full set of green fingers there will be something for you. There’s stalls with professional growers and garden related art, practical garden essential refreshments and talks.
Talks in Ropery Hall start at 10.30am with Pam Tatum giving ideas and tips on getting the best plant combinations to work for you followed at 11.30am with Gail Summerfield of Westshores Nurseries demonstrating some low tech methods for propagating plants. Both these talks are free.
At 2pm Nick Hamilton, son of Geoff Hamilton who was the BBC’s Gardeners’ World presenter for many years, will be talking about ‘Must Have Summer Perennials’. He is a garden designer in his own right and owner of Barnsdale Gardens in Rutland. Well-respected throughout the horticultural world after many years of medals at RHS Chelsea Flower Show Nick and his team struck Chelsea Gold in 2016 with Barnsdale Gardens – Past, Present and Future. Admission to his talk is £7.
