Barton Walking Festival returns this weekend

The popular Barton Walking Festival returns this Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September combing both walking and some of the history of Barton.

Various walks have been organised as part of the Festival giving people the chance to explore the historic landscape and wildlife havens of Barton-upon-Humber.

Everyone who takes part in a guided walk will be given a free pedometer to help them count their steps.

The walks include:

  • Humber Hounds Charity Walk (dog friendly walk) on Saturday 12 September at 10.30am from Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre and Country Park. This is a guided walk.
  • Waters’ Edge Ranger Ramble on Saturday 12 September at 10.30am from Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre and Country Park. This is a guided five miles walk.
  • Bat Walk on Saturday 12 September at 7.15am from Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre and Country Park. This is a guided walk between one and two miles. Booking is essential for this walk. To book your place call 01724 735349 or 07586293860.
  • Hidden Histories walk on Saturday 12 September at 10.30am from Barton Interchange. This is a guided two miles walk.
  • Baysgarth House Bat Walk on Sunday 13 September at 7.15am at Baysgarth House. This is a guided one mile walk. Booking is essential for this walk. To book your place call 01724 735349 or 07586293860.
  • Historic Barton Walk on Sunday 13 September at 10.30am from St Peter’s Church in Barton. This is a guided two miles walk.
