Bank Holiday Weekend in Barton

There’s plenty to do in Barton this Bank Holiday Weekend.

On Sunday there is the Classic Car Show at Waters’ Edge from 10am until 4pm with more 70 vehicles attending includingMorris Minor, Wolseley, Daimler, Scimitar, Triumph, MG, MGB, Toyota, Vauxhall, Citroen, Mini Cooper, BMW, Ford, Humber Scepter, Ariel arrow, Austin, Rover, Mini, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Jaguar, Opel.

At 2pm there is the final  Performance in the Park at Baysgarth Park  (not in the Events Leaflet)  when Fool’s Paradise comes to Barton for the first time with a  fast paced comedy show with plenty of shenanigans and gags.  Watch in awe (and participate too!) as a spectacle of chains, padlocks and stunts unfold before your very eyes.  The Maniax promises a fast paced comedy show with plenty of shenanigans and gags. Refreshments will be available from Baysgarth House Museum in aid of Museum funds.

On Bank Holiday Monday from 11am to 3pm, the Wilderspin National School is hosting Make Do & Mend – as big now as it was in 1945.  Come along and discover ideas to recycle and re-use as well as ways of making decorative and creative things around the home.

There will also be sales stalls, talks, demonstrations and artists all sharing ideas – new and old – on recycling on the home front.    There will also be stalls available for local charities.  There will also be  a wartime classroom and a Victorian kitchen too!
