The Barton & District History Group programme of talks in 2012     which was due to be launched this coming Wednesday (March 14) with Peeps around South Ferriby has had to be postponed due to ill-health. launched by the ever popular local historian, Brian Peeps, on Wednesday, March 14.
The next scheduled talk is on May 9, at St Mary’s Church Hall, when Nick Lyons will be talking on Confusions in Local Studies; Fakes, Frauds and Honest Error.
This will be followed on June 13 with John French’s talk on Notable Fleetgate Building Restorations, September 12 with Alison Williams speaking about the Adamant Cement Works and Judith Spicksley talking about Lending and Credit in Barton in the 17th century on November 14.  The last three talks will be held at Baysgarth House Musuem.
