This talk focuses on Beverley – a beautiful market town steeped in history.  Its origins date back over a thousand years when Saint John of Beverley founded a monastery, and its importance as an ecclesiastical centre is represented by the beautiful minster and Saint Mary’s Church.  The town contains a wealth of architecture ranging from Medieval through the Georgian up to the present day.   Paul Schofield, well known for his conducted tours of Hull and Beverley, presents an illustrated guided lecture “tour” through Beverley and its historical and architectural highlights.  Joseph Wright Hall, Queen Street [DN18 5QP] at 7.30pm.  Admission for Civic Society members is free.  Non-members £2.  For up to date information visit:
