Rex Russell : 1916 – 2014 Exhibition at Baysgarth House Museum

An remarkable commemorative exhibition for local historian, teacher and artist Rex Russell, looking at his life and achievements opens today, Saturday, May 20.

This exhibition reveals his passion for exploring and unveiling the past, covering subjects as broad as local education provision, Parliamentary Enclosure, Methodism, Village Life, Friendly Societies, Deserted Medieval Villages, the Temperance Movement and much more!

A keen researcher and determined tutor, this remarkable man shaped our knowledge of the history of Barton upon Humber and the surrounding areas.

Come and discover more at the free exhibition, telling the tale of a man’s life work, as remembered by his friends.

The Museum is open every Thursday to Sunday as well as Bank Holidays  from 12 noon to 4pm.
