Local historian Brian Peeps is, on Friday, April 27, giving a glimpse into life when the shortest way to travel to Hull from Barton was via train and ferry.

The talk, organised by the town’s Community, Heritage, Arts and Media Project, is being held at the Assembly Rooms starting at 7.30pm and doors opening 30 minutes earlier.

This snapshot of history between 1910 and the 1980s will see Brian taking his audience on a journey from Barton to Hull in days gone by.

Tickets costing £2.50 in advance are available from Euronics on George Street or Baysgarth House Museum on Thursday and Friday between 12 noon and 4pm.

Alternatively entry is £3 on the door.
