Kate Fox is a stand up poet and writer who is sometimes described as a spoken word artist and a comedian.  She’s appeared on Radio 4 a lot and telly a bit but has never gone viral apart from when she’s had a nasty cold.  Known as a funny and engaging performer with a subtly sharp edge who is as able to deal with spontaneous audience interaction she is a headline artist in her own right but has supported John Hegley, John Cooper Clarke, Phill Jupitus and Hollie McNish, as well as appearing everywhere from Latitude to the Southbank Centre, the Eden Sessions, the Stand Comedy Club, Express Excess and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Support comes from Barton upon Humber’s very own Ruth E. Dixon who returns to her roots to perform her comedy poetry. Since launching her show, The Shallow Depths, at Ropery Hall, Ruth and her pianist husband Pete have taken it on tour to rave reviews.  A former BBC Radio Humberside and Look North presenter, Ruth’s passion for spoken word was ignited through her weekend radio show.  She began performing on the open mic circuit in Hull where she developed her own breed of poetry cabaret.
