Humber Bridge Half Marathon

June 26, 2016
Barton upon Humber
United Kingdom

The Half Marathon starts across the river at 9am with the Marathon runners reaching Barton at about 9.20am. It is expected that there will be more than 2000 runners.  Entries are now in advance of previous years.

There will be road restrictions and closures as in previous half-marathons.  Runners will travel along Ferriby Road, Holydyke, Market Place, Market Lane, Barrow Road, Falkland Way, Pasture Road, Butts Road, Waterside Road, Far Ings Road, Gravel Pit Lane, Ferriby Road and back onto the Humber Bridge.

There will be rolling delays to traffic until about 11.30am and the Waste Disposal Site on Gravel Pit Lane will be closed until 1pm.

Traffic will be directed in a clockwise direction around the route and access from other streets both onto and off the route allowed when the runners’ safety permits.  To assist with traffic flow and safety it would be appreciated if residents could avoid parking on the route.

The Rotary Club of Barton who marshall this event with the help of volunteers would greatly welcome and appreciate more volunteers (for road or water marshalling) with regard to the rising number of runners. If you are able to support the Club please contact Mark Ding (01652 635806).
